The idea for Fitzers Leads came from photographing, training, working and competing with labradors, and later spaniels.
“What, another new lead!” questioned the husband, many a time. You know, you can never have too many leads! So, I decided to hand-make my own. I tried all sorts of rope bought from across the internet, and what rubbish I came across! Luckily, I found a rope making company in my local town called English Braids, making top quality rope for marine use, climbing, and many other applications. I now only use their amazing products for my quality leads. I have made orders to many people’s own specifications, as well as selling through local garden centres and veterinary practices.
After having training lessons with the fantastic Steve Brewer, top gundog trainer, starting in 2017, I made the Fitzers Training Lead to train people and their dogs, while also still supplying Steve. This is truly the most incredible piece of equipment, which some call “the magic lead”. Since then, I now supply trainers and online shops with this lead, and many other of my amazing hand-made products.
Now it is my turn, so I have made this shop to supply all you lovely people with a wider selection of made-to-order leads. If you need an unusual size, style or colour to suit you, just ask!
